Bubba Ninja

So my lady’s brother requested that she make him a ninja doll, and I jumped at the chance to design it! Similar to all my other big headed ideas, Bubba Ninja was born. Her and I have been talking about making dolls before so this was a great opportunity to try it. We made him in 1 day and took him out to little tokyo for some karaoke. Expect to see mini bubba ninjas on sale soon!

Ok, so UGTL has officially outgrown itself. I must say I’m pretty happy to be part of such an amazing phenomenon. I’ve been with the UGTL since the 3rd event when I asked if it would be alright if I did some live art, and now…I’ve been asked to head up the “Art Department” UGTL’s official gallery. Watch this video to find out what the hell I’m talking about.

Hey folks! I figured since a lot of people are stopping by to look around my site, i should offer some more entertainment. here’s a little cartoon i threw together while i was at UCSB. i’m using a BEATLES song ok? Is that ok with everyone? I’m not making any money off of it ok? If anyone has any legal problems with it, well i guess i’ll have to take it down. But until that happens, long live the BEATLES! and here’s a plug for the album its off of. is that fair?

I made this for one of my classes about globalization. It was one of the more depressing classes I had so I made this to express the only real solution that we all seem to be using. Drugs!!! I also used one of my fav Beatles cover songs “Till There Was You” Hope no one sues me or threatens to kill me. Most people didn’t even know this was the Beatles. the production value = $0 and it took 2 days to make it. Anyways, Beatles, Prescription drugs, and globalization. Enjoy.

UGTL stands for the Underground Tournament League, an organization of game players who are bringing back the old skool days of arcade tournaments. I have been lucky enough to get involved on the promotional side of things and with the work of my buddy MosesHouse we were able to produce this amazing video that has everyone buzzing! Michael (Moses House) did an amazing editing job and I topped it off with graphics. This is just the beginning!

In the summer of 2008 I was contracted fulltime to work for DiveIntoYourImagination.com in Santa Barbara, CA…right by DA BEACH! This was a huge time of growth in my career as a graphic designer and I produced so much work in such a little time. The website needed a promotional push and I took the opportunity to really bring the site to life. Annie Crawley voices the piece while I generated all graphics, keyed the animation and edited the final to fit with the music. Overall I’d have to say, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out and it’s been a significant piece in getting me more work.

Stop Motion Compositing

During Winter quarter at UCSB in my film production class I produced and animated a 16 minute stop motion short using a downshooter and cut out characters. This process was so incredible for me. I not only had a chance to lead an amazing crew, but I also became obsessed with stop motion! Mostly because stop motion is more hands on than motion graphics. It’s nice to be able to step away from the keyboard and mouse and use your hands!

My buddy Simon Estrada drew scab the crab the night before I went into the studio to animate. Our original character was made from sponges but when I tested the animation I found it nearly impossible to give any life or personality to the character, so without the consent of my crew, I went ahead and had it rendered as a cutout. I had the best time animating Scab and taking him into After Effects was an entirely different process. But it turned out alright.

Slot Machine Adverts

During the summer of 2008 I was contracted to animate advertisements for slot machines. It was pretty new at the time and I was able to produce many short ads with a quick turn around. I had to keep it simple though considering the clientele was predominantly the elderly.
